girls just want to have fun

Well everyone, it has been one of those weekends... Not much time for sleep. A lot of working boring shifts at the warhol, meeting new people, hanging out with sisters and gramma, and finally, a ton of driving downtown.

And as for today, it has been sunny for about 59%, cloudy 41%.

I will say this; to my family members and friends, be proud of me. I think I deserve it, along with a glass of this...

PS. I am officially spending my 23rd birthday celebration in Jersey, at the shore. I am hoping for sun, surf, and relaxing. And maybe a few people to miss me...

sun-shine, shmun-shine

after work, it seemed like a good idea to hit the hammock with my mac and veg in the sun. i think this will become a common reoccurring activity.

your rocky spine

They told me to be careful up there
Where the wind rages through your hair

I am daydreaming of beaches, a carefree lifestyle and love...

Sidney

I have been moving in between two rooms at work... the Toddlers and the School Age Group. Not to toot my own horn, but I would say that I am exercising my thinking on the spot and on the whim when it comes to activities and projects to do with the kids.

Tuesday's big project:
a collaborative art piece

Today's big project:
"The Grouchy Ladybug" by Eric Carle
Today we read "The Grouchy Ladybug" and made ladybugs with feelings a.k.a. we made ladybugs that we can feel...  out of felt.... GET IT??!! so cute right??!!

I'll post pictures of my School-Agers work. They are pretty cool kids and are really engaged. Love them.

I have officially ordered my digital pictures from Europe to be developed and mailed to me... all 2298 of them.

weekend in the city

I have started running, or tried to... It is kind of nice as a way to get away from everything. It is a little hard for me to go very far or very fast, but at least it is something. I have also started watching a chow called "True-Blood," it is about vampires, no doubt (everything is about vampires now). It is pretty vulgar and racy, the acting is pretty bad, but I like setting and the corelations of the reminensce of racism found in the south and the racism towards the vampires.
I didnt go running today, and I probably should have because I had one cupcake and about 6 hershey kisses, some chips, etc. but I am having a very good beverage now and I am a little sleepy.

This weekend Phil came to visit me. It was relaxing... for the most part... besides the stress of relationships statuses  and traffic.

phil washing my car... then waxing it

we spent most of the weekend in the city...

we picked each others' drinks. i got him "purple rain". he got me "the warhol."

this sundae was called "the odd couple." this odd couple ate the whole thing.

more cats than on broadway

this weekend has been occupied with four things in particular....
1. cats.
2. cleaning.
3. garage sales.
and finally....
4. erin's 21st birthday.

1. cats: taking over the mangieri/mcandrew house... but look how cute they are!
jack found these or something. dont let them fool you. they hiss, which sounds more like a wheez.
mom ended up giving them away at the church rummage sale.

then enter kingsley.

while erin and doug are of on their adventure. mom and i are stuck here with hissing and growling cats. all the time... kitty is VERY territorial. she will not let me leave her side and will not let kingsley anywhere near me.

kitty is checking out the scene.

this is what she sees:

i think they are starting to warm up to each other.

2. who wants to see pictures of us cleaning?

3.  not only did we participate in the church's rummage sale. mom and i headed to highland park for a hundred yard sales, in one community. it was pretty fantastic.

they even had maps....

4. and finally... erin's 21st birthday celebration, all day, and all night especially with yours truly. we did the family things in the afternoon and eventually made our way to the saloon, only for 2 drinks. wein and doug left this morning for their cross-country roadtrip, so we took it easy and did more packing and laughing. here are some fun pictures on our walk home.

21!!!

happy birthday erin! i want postcards. i miss you already! i love you!

occasionally i realize how big and german my nose is. i hate how huge and ugly it is, but i love how i got it from my grandpa and how it reminds me of him.

pink eye! stink eye!

so as i was at work today, i brushed away some crusties off of my right eye thinking it was nothing. later my eye start to hurt. it felt really sore like someone punched it or like i had my eyes open for a really long time without blinking, so i decided to check it out in the mirror. red veins started to infultrate my pupil. i thought to myself "Hm... thats weird, I wonder if this is what pink eye feels like." A few minutes later a little bit of puss came out. Yuck. I had Jamie look at my eye and ask her if this was normal or if it was pink eye. She said, "OH GIRL! You need to go! Call someone. Yuck." or something like that... So 3 hours later, I was headed home... or to the doctors.

50 stupid dollars and a stupid doctors visit later, it was confirmed. i have pink eye... conjunctivitis. of course the doctor was trying to convince me it could've been because of my contacts, and i needed to clarify if my eyes were sore or irritated and i had to defend myself that i take out my contacts every night. he was a jerk. but i didn't wipe the puss off of my eye for the past hour so he could see how nasty it was, especially if he was going to make me come in and prove it.

so here i am. mom and i went to lunch, went on an adventure, got some ice cream and some greek food. i never knew pink eye could be so obnoxious and irritating. this is what i get for taking care of, feeding, and changing diapers of other peoples' kids. i do not like it.
